Ghosting/Cloning Apps

by dhowell1 / November 30, 2004 10:05 AM PST

Hi All,

Does anyone know of any other programs that work much like Norton Ghost 9.0(or earlier versions)? I'd of course love to find some freeware but maybe something cheaper than Norton? I want to clone an older drive onto a new drive. The older drive runs Win 2K Pro, but I would like to use my Win XP Pro machine to do the cloning. Does this make sense?
Thanks
Dave

This might be too late for you, but try Casper XP. You can download a 30 day free trail, and try it. Casper XP is all that I use, and find that it does a real good job. If you want to try it, go to Google, and run a search on it. Hope that this helps.

"D", if you look into Casper, you will see that they got the Name from Norton's Ghost. You know as in Casper the friendly ghost. Anyway, like I said, "It works real good, and easy to use. The disk that you clone will boot right up. After I tried the online free version, I liked it so well that I bought it. About $45.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
