"ghost" lines in display

Oct 17, 2004 10:37PM PDT

I have horozontal gray "ghost" lines running across my CRT. Tried changing to another monitor but lines are still there. Ran scans for virus, trojan, ad/spyware etc. found nothing. Anyone have some suggestions? Thx

How high a refresh are you running, you have to run at least 70Hz or you can see very fine horizontal lines on a CRT. You go to Control Panel/Display/Settings/Advanced/Adapter to change refresh. You must have a monitor selected however.

Some monitors using Sony Trinitron type technology have 2 thin horizonal sync lines. One runs near the top and the other the bottom. These are usually only noticable with a white or very light background. If this is what you are seeing, it's normal and you cannot make it go away.
