The reports are rather heart stopping.
When using IE10, I will provide my search topic, I will select the site that I wish to review, when the browser attempts to go to that site it will be redirected to another unrelated site, often but not always to an ad related site.I can actively see the address change in the window as the browser is attempting to access the selected page.
I am running a 64-bit OS, Windows 7 Home Premium, on a Dell XPS L702X. I utilize McAfee All Access Total Protection, only after Windows Security Essentials and Windows Defender did not seem to fix the problem. I have done a complete wipe and reinstall. All anti-malware/virus software says that my system is clean with no identifiable problems.
When using Chrome or Firefox the browsers will stop working rather than send me to the redirected site. Additionally, I will have random music, ads, or previously viewed sites play in the background while I'm surfing the net and also when the laptop is not being used. I cannot access or see the sites being played nor can I stop them. Again, this issue, like the browser redirection, occurs at random. On more than one occasion while walking to the kitchen to get a drink late at night I've had the laptop start playing some commercial or song and pretty much cause a heart attack.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
