Getting windows to show up on TV monitor from laptop

by sierrajip / August 28, 2009 1:59 AM PDT

I am trying to use a Dynex DX32-10A as a seperate monitor for a Gateway 6020GZ. The Dynex shows the Windows background but does not show the desktop icons or the internet windows that come up. It is an older unit with an Intel Celeron M/ 1.39 GHz 504MB. Is there anyway that I can get the icons to show on the Dynex to use it as a monitor?

Dollars to Donuts

Dollars to donuts, you have it set up as an extended desktop, not mirrored displays. Change that (Google it if you don't know how) and I'll bet it will be more how you want.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
