Resolved Question

Getting to BIOS from Vaio Care

Sep 21, 2018 11:24AM PDT

Hi, wondering if anyone can help.
Ive been trying to clean install and wipe my sony vaio PGC-71911M and upgrade from Windows 7 to 10.
Ive made an ISO usb of Windows 10.
Then i think i did the wrong thing and wiped my computer using the assist button and the vaio recovery wizard.
This failed halfway through and gave me the option to exit.
Now when i turn on my computer it says "Operating system not found".
Looking online it seems i need to get into BIOS, though im not really sure what that is.
Following tutorials they say to hold the assist button and select boot from usb.
But when i do it, it brings up Vaio care centre but only gives me 3 options

-Start recovery wizard
-Tools
-Exit

Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks

Assuming you can get this usb stick to boot I suspect your first problem will be a product key.

I doubt the sony key will work so you will need to buy a key.

Are you ready to start spending money on a machine that old?

Contact sony and see if they can supply w10 factory restore media for that machine.

Should be cheaper than buying a msft key and it will have all the drivers to make the machine function.
