Getting started

I am new to this. Could someone suggest how to choose the right software to download or is it automatic?? Thanks

thanks for getting back or responding to my e mail
unfortunately, i think that i am still confused.
i did try downloading the newer version of media windows and it
would not download. i am not sure why. do you think that if
i go the previous version that that might help me?? do i need to
download something from this site?? thanks again for your suggestion.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
