Getting new comp, Will wifi be fast enough for gaming?

Hey everyone, i am getting a new computer with a AMD Athlon 64 3200+ and it will be in my basement and i do not want to have to run a cable from the router to down there so i am thinking about getting a usb wireless adaptor for it since i already have a Belkin N wireless router, The internet is Cogeco cable internet and im just wondering will this be fast enough to game on in the basement? with such games as Counterstrike, Warcraft 3, Call of duty??

I wouldn't if you play any games where ping times are important. Wireless is good for casual stuff like web browsing, but it's pretty useless for almost everything else.

Wired is best because you can never be sure of a wifi connection.
