Question

Getting graphics card (GTX 970) working

Feb 8, 2015 4:58AM PST

I have recently bought a msi GTX 970 graphics card and I am having trouble getting it working.

My established computer is an asrock motherboard (m3a770de) and AMD processor. About 4 years old.

I assumed installation would be a simple case of popping out my old graphics card, putting this hefty beast in, and attaching the power wires.

My computer powers up and the graphics card looks alive, its fans are going and it has a glow, but...nothing is appearing on my screen.
I have tried it with an HDMI connection to my TV and with a VGA/DVI adapter connection to my monitor

Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?
What should you do to install a new graphics card? Do you need to get rid of the old ones drivers or what?
