I just happen to see your post, minutes away from "calling it a night". I'm unfamiliar with any sort of games, or the error code, for that matter.

As a result of a quick Google search, it brought me to the Batman: Arkham Asylum sub-forum at the Eidos Forums.

Have a look at this thread titled, "CRC Error (installation)", where a member had the exact same error code. A few suggestions were made. Perhaps, one might be of help to you.

I'll check back tomorrow. If you haven't gotten any (helpful) responses, I'll try and see if I can find some additional (and more appropriate) information.

Best of luck..
Carol

Thanks for ur prompt reply, but i think my troubled days will be prolonged.
I have tried all they suggested on the forum. Also the game runs on other system with similar config running x64 version of OS. The only major difference in that system is that it has NVDIA driven graphics while mine runs on ATI Raedon graphics.

One of those things ..

chandailrc..

After some further searching, I found this to be "one of those things", where the more I found, the more I realized .. just how much I don't know! ⇐⇐ That may not make sense to you, but it does to me. Silly

There is a lot to be found with a Google search, but knowing as little as I do about "the world of games", I'm afraid I can't be of much help. No doubt, you know more than I do. To include what's incorporated within the 5 pages of, "Tips on Troubleshooting Game Issues". (IF the difference in graphics isn't the issue)

Your best bet might be posting at the Batman: Arkham Asylum Forum. I hope for your sake your troubled days will not be as prolonged as you expect them to be.

Have you considered using the other OS, where the game runs without a problem? In other words, kicking them off, while you take over? Devil

I don't mean to make light of it. Just trying to make the best of a bad situation.

Furthered good luck..
Carol

Many thanks for taking time out and helping me with this issue. Though the problems still remains unresolved, I have decided to move on. I am hesitating to put this up on BM: Arkham Asylum's forum cause the game's quite old and I hardly expect anyone to be still visiting the forums. With the new sequel Batman Arkham City being released today, all eyes will be fixed on it. Also I did run the game on a different machine which had similar specs as mine, and it ran there quite successfully. The only difference was the other machine had NVDIA driven graphics, while my machine has ATI driven.
Anyway ur help is appreciated.
I will try to haunt microsoft, IGN, Gamespot, Machinima, etc. forums to see if someone can come up with a solution.
However I did try one thing that someone suggested on one of the forums u linked. The guy said to copy the dvd content and paste it on my internal drive and run the setup from there. I did that. However the error was still there but this time it was a Runtiem error! You know anything about this ?
