I have no cure for this industry issue, but note what I find improves my chances of it playing.

Hi there,
New to the world of DVD authoring/burning. I have a new DVD burner attached to my laptop. I created my movies and burned them onto a CD+RW. Now, the DVD plays on my playstation two (havent got an actual dvd player) but the first time out, there were sound drop outs and eventually "unable to read disk" messages. I tried a new brand of DVD+RW and sound is fine but the video is choppy!!
I'm trying to find out is it a matter of writing speed or the proper DVD blank disk or perhaps the playstation two isn't a good device for playing back these things? I can tell you that the laptop and indeed DVD burner unit plays the disks just fine. Indeed the playstation two will play professional DVD's no problem. Could it also be the RW format? Do DVD players treat DVD+/- R's better?
If anyone has a clue as to how to make reliable DVD's regarding these sort of problems, I'd really appreciate it.
Cheers!
