Getting a DVD out of a stuck drive

Hi, one of my DVD-Rom drives refuses to open, even the paper clip technique doesn't work and my Sims 2 DVD is stuck in there. How do I get the disk out of this drive?

Next up is to disassemble the drive.

New DVDRW drives are spotted at 30 bucks, the sims game costs more than that so sacrificing that drive to get your game out looks to be the right thing to do.

Maybe the drive is a Sony. . .

I had the same thing, paper clip wouldn't work, until a friend came over and applied more pressure the the clip. Drive opened. Push harder.

GETTING DVD OUT OF STUCK DRIVE

Hi! I'm no guru but I just had a similar problem (my drive didn't even show up in MY COMPUTER!) I went to CONTROL PANEL ... SYSTEM ... DEVICE MANAGER ... CLICKED ON THE DRIVE IN QUESTION and was then able to "troubleshoot" ... it said the drive was working properly so I hit the eject button and VOILA! it opened!!!! Sounds too simple, I know but you have nothing to lose and it might work. Good luck. Ann

Nothings working

Nothing is working. I think the trays well and truly stuck. I think I'll just have to dismantle the drive. Oh well, at least new ones are cheap.
