Get error "unexpected error occured in AVG"

Apr 5, 2011 3:02AM PDT

Windows 7 Ultimate
AVG Anti-Virus Free 2011

I tried to update or open the program on my hubby's computer and everytime I do, I get: 'unexpected error occured in AVG. Would you like to send diagnostic data to the AVG Tech Support department for further analysis?'

I can scan but cannot open its interface and update nothing. Can someone please help?

RE: Unexpected error

Hello lascott7,

Please provide us with the following so we can investigate the error:
- Few recent AVG dump files from this folder:
C:\ProgramData\AVG10\Dumps
- All AVG log files located here:
C:\ProgramData\AVG10\log
- MSinfo output.

Upload requested files and outputs to your favourite online storage service and provide us with link.

Afterwards you could try to perform full reinstallation and inform us if the issue was resolved.

Thank you

Hello love_hemant_21,

Analysis of provided information did not point to any conflict application, but summary of event protocols showed also many crashes of other used applications on your computer, which could point to a hardware issue.

I would recommend to check your hard-drive and memory modules for errors.

Then please reinstall AVG completely.

What is the current situation?

Thank you

Hello Bennypr0,

please be informed that mentioned error is globally used when some AVG process crashed (it is not related with one exact issue) - How-To article about this error at AVG Forums

Please mention the link to gathered and uploaded files in your next reply or open my CNET profile and send me the link by an email (or any other AVG moderator here on CNET AVG Forum).

Thank you
