Frankly, while I write apps for Android the iPad is the gold standard. If I get a pad for mom, it's an iPad. Samsung bothers me over an issue that bit my neighbor. They picked up a Samsung tablet and the pad insisted on him registering the device. Samsung's registration servers were down so he had a non-operational tablet. After 3 days he returned it.
He wanted and got a firesale deal on something totally different but that's the Samsung story. I can't recommend that brand for tablets, no matter how nice until they back off that forced registration.

Hi!
My iPad 2 is coming to the end of its days and I'm looking at Samsung Tab S or iPad Air.
Aside from the obvious enhancements, size, quality, etc., WHY do I want to get a newer model - and not another iPad 2!? I am getting too old to learn new things!
Thank you & HAPPY THANKSGIVING
