I wouldn't call this a generic iPod. It's a generic MP3 player that <i>looks</i> like an iPod.

Have ZERO idea on who would support such a thing if that info wasn't provided when you initially received the device. There's a LOT of iPod counterfeits/clones/lookalikes in marketplaces all over the planet. Probably only a fraction of those have identifiable manufacturers and/or reliable branding/support.
