general question about rechargable batteries

by iamabanana / June 22, 2005 4:28 AM PDT

i own an LG cell phone whose battery life i am pleased with. However after reading posts on the internet my knowledge on charging it properly and safely is clouded and would appreciate if you could tell me if what i am doing is okay for the battery.

I basically let my battery pretty much drain (it turns itself off, but is able to go on again for a short awhile) and than charge it overnight or until it is fully charged.

I read somewhere that you should not let your battery drain as it is not good for the life of the battery, but if it turns itself off is it still considered draining (does it turn itself off even when there is still a bit of life left in the battery, just to keep it healthy??)

I am also planning on buying an ipod soon and am probably going to use hte same charging habits but i do not want to diminish the amount of power my battery has and the overall life in general.

It is a simple question but please tell me if the way i charge is okay.

Thanks in advance.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
