General Inquiry about Itunes

When I play my itunes(or listen to ipod) all the songs are at a different volume and fidelity due to source, age of recording etc. Is there any app or program I can use to bring order to this mess?

Did you try Normalize?

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&as_q=itunes+normalize+volume finds prior discussions so my only comment is to backup your stuff before you do this. Well, everyone has a backup copy in case it goes rwong.
