Remove old driver in SAFE MODE.
Download latest driver from nVidia.com.
Install latest driver.
Result?

If failure, try next earlier version of driver from nVidia.com.

BTW, what is your computer make and model?
What is your the maximum Wattage on your PSU and how old is it?

Or you forgot some other driver.

Many skip installing the motherboard chipset support package and find this happening. There are hardware reasons too such as overheating and old power supplies.
