Gay rights opens way for polygamy

Dec 2, 2003 5:04AM PST

"A lawyer for a Utah man with five wives argued Monday that his polygamy conviction should be thrown out following a Supreme Court decision decriminalizing gay sex...what gay men and women do in the privacy of their homes is no business of government...It's no different for polygamists...he faces up to life in prison after being convicted of child rape for having sex with one of his five wives when she was 13"

I wonder what other creative arguements will flow from this decision?

Don't really see why polygamy needs to be illegal

Don't know why anyone would want more than one spouse either but that's just me.

I don't think anyone should be married at 13, but it's hard to present a cogent argument against polygamy among consenting adults.

Get government out of our marriages!
