However I couldn't nail down what the 819 was. You'll have to supply the link to a document about it.

The 819 computers was sold exclusively on the HSN network. It was specially configured to HSN configurations. It is a Windows XP.I'm not really up to speed on computers, but I recently started a home based business and need an upgrade. At present it has 512 ram,and Intel single core processor of which I would upgrade to 1 G ram and dual core Intel and the Vista
Home Premium.Of course price is an issue and if too much I would simply buy a new computer.TIA again.

Under specifications we find it's motherboard and Intel 915G Chipset.

You can't upgrade to a dual core because you have a LGA-775 915 chipset motherboard which doesn't support dual core processors. So you are stuck with single core upgrades.
