I can't respond to the question regarding the price of the notebook, but I've been a GW customer for over ten years, and only because I've found their support to be better than the major player, that being Dell. I've only had GW desktops, but I've been pretty satisfied with their tech support... wait times, compentency, ability to understand the person on the other end of the phone. That having been said, and looking at the current price of GW stock (under $6.00 a share), I'd think carefully. My new notebook will likely be an HP z5000 (or it's replacement with the new AMD mobile chip set).
I see that Gateway is selling a notebook with 2.8GHz, 80GB hard drive, 1GB memory, for about $1500? How can the price be that low, and how does their quality compare with Dell and HP? How is their service? India?
