Have reinstalled original synaptics touchpad driver. Not successful in getting touchpad to work. Cursor seem to track OK. However, when I hover th cursor over an item, neither the left or right touchpad buttons function. I need your help in correcting this problem. Please be specific in your response. Thanks

When I see this I often boot a Live UBUNTU and see if the buttons work there. If not I know it's a hardware issue.
