Win XP Pro has an install limit to only 127GB hard drives that after we install SP1 or later extends to larger sizes. Sometimes you hear advice about growing the partition size but then your Win XP Pro CD and its Recovery Console can't be used to repair the OS. This, in my opinion is bad advice (growing partitions larger than we can repair.)
For now, with the base Win XP Pro CD the limitation is not the machine but your CD version.
I'd look for an 120GB hard drive.
My HD is failing and I would like to replace with a larger size.
It is a Gateway M320 laptop with an 80 GB EIDE HD. (Win XP Pro)
I cannot find any info about the max HD size. No help on Gateway or MPC sites on this model. Specifications show memory max, but nothing on the HD.
Any help would be appreciated. Have Ghost BU, but it is better if it is still alive......
