Gateway laptop won't download

by born_in_alaska / January 27, 2008 11:39 AM PST

I have a Gateway laptop running Windows XP. I also have Itunes 7.0 and PC-cillin anti-virus software installed. A few months ago, I purchased an album off of Itunes, tried to download it, and it wouldn't download it. It still won't. It acts like it is downloading and will download the full song, but then when it gets to the end, it starts over and proceeds to "download" it again. At the end of the second download it gives me an error message. I go in and delete the temporary Itunes file, but this does no good. I even purchased another song thinking that the original album might have been the problem.

I ended up reformatting my hard drive to re-install Itunes thinking the program was the problem, but I still get the same thing. On top of that, now my anti-virus, PC-cillin, will download the updates, but won't install them either. It states I might have a problem with my internet, when clearly I don't.

I am thinking there is somthing wrong with my hard drive, although I can copy CD's onto it with no problem. Has anyone heard of this problem or have any insight? Thanks!
