Running Vista. model #W340UI. I was trying to press F10 and F8 about a week ago. I must have did something wrong because Now every internet site I try to open tells me it has encryption problems. How do I resolve this problem? Also where can I learn how to back up all my files to CDs or DVDs? Thanks in advance

if you told us the exact error message.

I believe Vista has a built in backup program. Do a Help search for backup.

If every website has encryption problems

then I suspect your computer's clock time/date is far off the real time.

Change it to make it right
Jan 14, 2012 8:42AM PST

If you are an Administrator on that computer you can change it.
Just click on the time (shown in the lower right corner of the desktop) and if there are selections to change it ...change it.
If you are not an Admniistrator then you will not be able to change it, you'll need to sign on as some user who has Admin rights.

The time might look right ...
Jan 14, 2012 1:44PM PST

but it could be off by 12 hours (AM instead of PM for example) or by days or months or it could even be an incorrect time zone.

You have to CHECK your settings.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Set-the-clock

Also, when you're connected to the internet...

Change your time your time server.

1. You can change the default time server by right-clicking on the clock, and then choose Adjust Date/Time from the menu.
2. Click on the Internet Time tab.
3. Now click the Change settings button.
4. In the Internet Time Settings dialog, you can change the default server by choosing an item from the drop-down, or you can type in a new entry. You can also test it immediately by clicking the Update now button.
5. time-a.nist.gov is usually a good choice assuming you are in the US

You did what? Assuming you changed the time, and what did that do?
Did that resolve the problem or not?
