I bought it.....
Dec 6, 2005 8:20PM PST

Sold to me by the seemingly knowledgable salesperson at BestBuy for my Christmas present.

I knew I wanted a larger monitor and was willing to pay for it. For $699, I received alot of monitor for the added price. I have installed the software to allow the monitor to change orientation from "landscape to portrait". I don't have any reason to make the monitor vertical but, it was worth loading the software.

The color is great. Ratio is 1000:1. The Sony I was looking at was only 700:1, smaller and more expensive.

I take alot of dig pics and am really looking forward to editing them on this monitor!!

Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll put my monitor to the test.

Need help connecting the monitor
Mar 16, 2006 5:02AM PST

Hi - I have the following:
FPD2185W, Gateway FX510X, Windows XP home along with Media Center AND a DirecTV HD Satellite box - I am having a heck of a time getting all the cables strung for "optimal" performance. I know it has to be better than what I have. And, does the AUTO not work when running a DVI?

Any help will be appreciated. Gateway's Technical support are clueless - keep referring me back to DirecTV.

Gateway is using the best panel in the industry and has partnered with Genesis to provide a all in one chipset that rocks. These are available on Gateway.com today and many retail outlets as well. Personally I have a chance to play with this monitor and love it

Fantastic Monitor!!!
Feb 5, 2006 7:41AM PST

I bought mine from Costco in late December. It is perfect!!!

I use it with a Mac Dual G4 with Final Cut Pro Editing and Photoshop.

Since I am in the film industry, I can say I use a lot of very expensive monitors on the job at various major studios. This monitor really rocks. With video smoothing for SD and HDTV this beats most moniotrs that would be 3 times the cost.

Highly recommended for all types of computer work.

Hello, we just bought some desktops with these monitors. The picture is incredibly sharp, and the rotation feature works like a dream. Worth every cent!

Humming Sound?
Jan 8, 2006 2:02PM PST

I purchased this monitor a few days ago and I really like the display and features, but I am a dissapointed by a humming sound coming from my unit. It is faint, but enough to be pretty annoying in a quite office.

Has anyone else noticed this? I'm thinking about returning it.
