Gas pump inertia switch

Sep 25, 2005 12:10AM PDT

I own a Ford Taurus Station Wagon that was hit from behind while parked on a street. the left hand side light took most of the damage. Then I tryed to start the car and it did not start. some one told me that there is a switch that stops the prevents the gas pump to function after a collision. Can you explain to me where exactly the switch is located? thank you,

I believe the place described in the trunk would be the same in the Escort you describe, as it was the same in the 87 Tempo as well. I had a similar experience, too.
