Garmin Nuvi 750 routing problem

Feb 28, 2008 9:44AM PST

So..I have a NEW Garmin Nuvi 750. Yesterday I needed to go to O'Hare Airport in Chicago from Hammond, Ind. I always take 294 up to avoid going thru the city (Chicago). The Garmin set the route going up the Dan Ryan thru the city, of course, it recalculated when I didn't but kept directing me to go into the city whenever it could. It continued to recaluculate each time I didn't take the exit it indicated and just went to the next one. Is there a way to set a route using a specific road?

Maybe, not a problem?

I recently got the Nuvi 750.....The route you describe would be the fastest if you don't run into traffic(taking the ryan and kennedy) and definitely less miles than 294....I added the traffic adapter(GTM20)to my 750 and it will take the traffic into account and route you the fastest way, which could take me via 294, if the Ryan or Kennedy is congested.....but otherwise without traffic considerations , that is the fastest way.
