Gaming over a remote network connection?

Mar 9, 2005 9:01PM PST

Is there ANY solution to play games over a network connection?

For example, I have an ethernet network in my house, and my big super gaming machine is upstairs, but I want to game downstairs on a lower end machine.

I was thinking might it be possible to play some of these 3D games like EQ, SWG over software like timbuktu, pc anywhere, vnc, or something else? Maybe even some kind of hardware device that would take the keyboard/mouse/monitor and connect them to the network?

I don't think it's possible...

You can run programs remotely over ethernet, but everything would still have to go through the cpu and graphic card of the lower end machine.

Dear SSzretter,

You could get a good wireless keyboard+mouse, but I have never heard of a wireless monitor (well, I have, but not one an average person could afford).

As stated in previous post by dagger, game would have to be run on the other computer, so you can't remotely run it downstairs - other than wireless stuff.

Sorry,
