Question

Gaming Laptop under $500

Aug 3, 2015 11:11AM PDT

Hey guys, I have a gaming desktop but I was looking for something a little more mobile for times when I just don't wanna get outta bed. So I signed up here and decided to make a post. I just need something that can play basic mmo's like Guild Wars 2 and Blade & Soul when it comes out.
Thanks!

The gamers loathe such low end models. Try shopping for say the refurb 8GB RAM AMD A10 models to get in that low price realm.

I was in your shoes and needed a laptop that would run Dota and CS:go. You might not be able to run current generation games at a good setting but last gen games like guild wars 2 or TF2 are doable with a 500 laptop. I picked up the Asus from this article and so far im liking it.

Sorry I meant Acer**********************. The 940m absolutely smashes any integrated card and the asus on that list.

As your budget, you can under look for at low specs.
I will say Asus X550ZA, which I'm thinking it is not a real gaming laptop.

You may have to settle for entry level gaming. There's a link in this thread but I've had folk try it and complain to me so for gamers I'll stick to the more common i5 and 960m class laptops.

Answer
no dedicated gaming line under $500

laptops under $500 may be called gaming laptops anymore. yes, they will use the i7 CPU, but then you'd comply with GPU, which should be more important than CPU when gaming.
one other thing is when you look for the laptop with the purpose of gaming, pay some attention on its thermal cooling system. A good cooling system will help you get better gaming performance. The list is as below:
