Gaming Laptop for College

by Shareque909 / December 6, 2010 9:34 AM PST

I'm planning on buying a new laptop for college and was looking into the ASUS G73/G53 Toshiba Qosmio and MSI GT660. I read some reviews and saw that the MSI kind of has a less that average case and screen, the ASUS is well rounded, and the Qosmio has the best of everything but is more pricey. Preferably the price should be below $1500. Screen size is a small issue as the school I'm going to has a very short walk to get to my classes and lugging it around isn't really a big deal.
So I want to know what you guys think.
What would be the best pick?

This is a bad idea.

Gaming laptops have shorter life spans, no battery time to speak of.

This has been discussed many times so if you can afford to replace that laptop every 2 years go right ahead.

And yes, you picked one of the nice gamer laptops.

That doesn't really solve my dilemma, I still have to buy a laptop.
What would you, as a giver of advice, advise me to do?
