All seem to burn laps and run a little loud. What models are you considering? And are you looking at warranties?

Check out the PC Scout reccos then go try them out

Windows just re-launched the PC Scout and it has some pre-picked gaming laptops (although I'm still not sold on the gaming laptop idea).

Check it out: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pc-scout/laptop-set-criteria.aspx?cat=4&brands=all&addf=showmaxnumpcs

If you're looking for something else, you can use the PC Scout and change the toggles to pick your next PC.

MOST IMPORTANTLY - Go out and get your hands on them. Set them on your lap. Put them in your messenger bag. You want to be happy one the third day when the honeymoon phase wears off.

Also, if you're into PC gaming, you should follow @WindowsGamer on twitter.
