Other features you can take into consideration.

Picking a good gaming laptops is not just only GPU and Ram, but also other features you can take into consideration. For instance, when it comes to spec, they are all GTX960 and 16GB, so, if you prefer a better sound experience while playing game, you could choose Lenovo Ideapad Y700 for its JBL speakers and Dolby Home Theater.

Admittedly, the GPU and Ram is really essential for gaming laptops, yet the other thing is about the cooling system which is very crucial for machine performance. My friend just bought a MSI GS60, which is really amazing, yet because of your the budget, so if I were you, I would focus on MSI GE62 Apache Pro-004 which loaded with GTX960M that fit all your need, BTW it furnishes great sound experience and best cooling fans dedicated for CPU and GPU.

Last but not least, If your budget is under 1K, you could take Dell Inspiron i7559 for its price, however, its CPU is i5, so if you just want to play some entry-type game i think that's fine.

alright soo you would rather pick the Dell for the ROG? (can you say why?) and if i wanted a better sound i would get the Y700? well for me ill mostly use a headset i guess plus the MSI GE62 Apache Pro-004 15.6" is like adding another laptop to my list but thanks now im really confused what to get now sorry lol

Maybe ...

they both are good? Or do you have reasons to believe one of them is bad?

There's more than one good model of car, there's more than one good brand of coffee, why should there be only one good gaming laptop?

Gaming Laptop

If you do really care about the GPU and Ram... as i know the gaming laptop is defined normally as a laptop with Core i7 CPU and not under GTX960M graphic card.
However, if you just care about the spec, all the brands can make it possible with even lower price i think, try to focus on the laptop which can meet the gamer's needs.

I have a MSI GE laptop, which is amazing when i am playing the game.
if you want the gaming laptop under 1K, I will recommend you the GP or GL with the good enough GPU and Ram as you want.
