Gaming issues on Samsung UN55d7000

by mspiredm3 / June 11, 2012 2:48 PM PDT

Just picked this tv up and love it so far except for one thing. I have an older, non HDMI XBOX; it is hooked up to the components cable adapter to my TV.

So, the issue is that the colors are bland and off when trying to play COD. Also, there are some lines that appear here and there running horizontally. Worst of all, it seems to have a lag between what is going on in the game and what I am actually seeing.

I have tried turning on the game mode option on the TV, which didn't change anything.

Am I missing something or am I forced to upgrade my XBOX to a newer, HDMI version?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Clarification Request
Are you sure it's component and not composite?

A buddy didn't know the difference and it was less than stellar.

Yep, I got the blue, green, red, red, and white hooked up. No spot for the yellow however...

As a test.

In reply to: Yep

I unplug the red to see if I lose the reds. If I don't I know I'm not component.

Once I have that I have to find my way around the XBox menus to set the resolution to 720 or 1080 HD. Sorry but as XBox's are not always the same I leave that wandering to you.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
