No clear winner from what I see. The usual idea is to get the top of the line video card like you see at http://www.tomshardware.com then a 3 or better GHz CPU plus 512 or 1024 megabytes of RAM. Cool cases with good ventilation and ample power supplies tend to round it off.

Custom paint jobs are nice too.

Such use parts that you and I can obtain with ease. Tomshardware has many articles about "fast" machines and the inside tip is to copy one of theirs.

In fact, we can do better since we can upsize the power supply wattage and have a longer lasting machine.

note before you spend that much money, as bob said, you can attain the same parts with easy and for much cheaper than buying their system, with a company's system you are paying for extra software and brand names.

Today, the Athlon FX 64-bit cpu at the highest clock rate, 512M or 1G of RAM and a GeForce 6800 Ultra video card or better. After that, a nice 19" display, optical mouse and the usual 7200 RPM 8M Cache IDE drives.

That's about it.
