Question

Gaming computer build

Aug 2, 2018 10:54AM PDT

Hello
I'm trying to build a good gaming pc with a budget around 1000$.
Since this is my first build, I'm not quite sure whiche components to choose.
This is what i came up with but I'm not sure if it's good.

Mobo: msi Z370 gaming plus CFX ATX
CPU: Intel Core i5-8600k
COOLER: CRYORIG H7 Cooler
GPU: EVGA ACX 3.0 GTX 1060 6GB
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz
SSD: ADATA SU800 256GB
HDD: Toshiba P300 1TB HDD

I also don't know what power supplyI have to buy.
Thx

I take it you checked the motherboard CPU support list and for RAM if that's a supported model and speed.

As to PSU, try single +12V rail models from newegg and amazon of the 500+W models.

ALL mechanical drives make some noise and I'm finding folk complaining more that they have SSDs to compare against.

HOW YOU MOUNT THE HDD also matters. My quiet mounts were by using a 5 1/4 to 3.5 inch plastic drive frame. The plastic really helped soak up the noise of the seeking.

In parting, avoid the Seagates.
