Gaming Build HELP

by benleja / July 6, 2015 7:37 AM PDT

Hi guys! First off thanks for taking the time to read this, i have always been a gamer but I have never really delved into the world of custom built PC gaming. I thought i'd get my toes wet and pick up a basic machine of kijiji to get me started!

So I did. And I have absolutely no idea how to improve/what to upgrade so it will run my high end pc games.

This is hopefully where all you kind ladies and gentlemen might be able to help me!

I will post the specs right below this, I'm just hoping for some general feedback or some direction in what to upgrade to get the most bang for my buck! Again, THANK YOU!

Specs:

AMD Kabini 5350 Quad Core Jaguar CPU

8GB DDR3 Kingston Low Profile LP RAM

Seagate Barracuda 1 TB 7200 RPM HDD Hard Drive

Nvidia GT 520 1 GB Graphics Card

MSI AM1i Motherboard

25w processor at 2 Ghz? Not a gamer CPU. Although gaming concentrates more on GPU power, you'd probably need a more powerful CPU than that.

Why AM1 motherboard? It's better suited for Mom and Pop downloading email and cruising the internet, on a budget. If going AMD would do better to find an FX type motherboard and matching CPU.

Let's look at The Witcher 3.

You'll want some Intel i5 and a high end video like the Nvidia 980 to play at 1080p. If you want to play at ultra settings you go up from there.
