Games load incorrectly in XP

Feb 23, 2004 8:11AM PST

When I install games in XP they load in the top 3/4 of
the monitor, rendering them unplayable. I have tried the Program Compatibility Wizard but that doesn't help.
My computer is a new Sony that came with Windows XP Home Edition installed. Can anyone help with a solution? Thanks.

You could try changing your screen solution or search for some updated monitor drivers. Sometimes there is an extra config executable that lets u set settings for playing like screen resolution.

It only happens when I install/load games from CD or
downloaded games from internet. The games are supposed
to be ok for XP but still don't load correctly. The
bottom quarter of the screen is black. Thanks for
any suggestion. gmom

Re:Games load incorrectly in XP + New = issues.

1. New = Warranty. This is a prime time to call Sony and ask them to fix the machine.

2. New may mean drivers are out of date as well as DirectX. Vendors are sluffing this off on the buyers. Ago, its still a warranty issue and you need to call them on it.

Best of luck,
