Games and Fullscreen

by DJ007 / December 30, 2004 5:32 PM PST

I've got a strange problem, any game I try and play on my Win XP Pro machine wont go into fullscreen or a windowed mode. You start the game by clicking on its icon and it flashes in fullscreen for a second then goes into windowed mode and then nothing, dissapers. But the program is still running cause its on the taskbar and you cant open it or anything. Plus it shows in task manager that its running as well. The only thing it does is plays the sound for a bit. I've tryed direct X tool but when testing it for direct3d says that "You cancelled the test by pressing a key" but i never touched the keys. It tryed to go fullscreen but comes up with the msg above. Any Idea what i can do to fix this. Thanks.
