Game Port to USB connector

by denisemiel / February 12, 2006 10:46 PM PST

I need to purchase a specific foot pedal for my work (Medical Transcription) and it has a DB15 game port connector but I have no game ports, only USBs.

What exactly do I need to buy in the way of an adaptor and where can I find this?
Can anyone tell me a specific product, make & model number, etc?

Any old computers laying around?
by strickjh2005 / February 13, 2006 3:54 AM PST

Before intergrated sound got better almost every single computer had a sound card with a game port on it.

I have 4 of these PCI cards in my basement. I'm sure you can get one of these PCI cards for about $5.

PCI card?

Since I am a newbie,I don't fully understand your reply. Where could I buy this and how would I use it exactly? Sorry to be so dense!

Today I tried CompUSA, Radio Shack, and Office Max and none of these had the necessary adapter so I am really in need of help with solving this problem or I will be unable to do my transcription work.

Thanks for your input!

In reply to: PCI card?

Peripheral Component Interconnect
Definition can be found here

I was just making sure that you were using this instead of ISA which is found on very old computers... 96 and back. Theese larger out dated cards are almost worthless.

Anyway, here is a link to ebay with many PCI sound cards with game ports on them.

And the adapter they were talking about can be found here:
