Since the school IT is doing the imaging they may know what's up. Anyone else and it's a guess as bad as me trying to tell you which card you pulled from a deck of cards. There's just no data to work with. Nothing about the game or PC.
Your better bet is the game's own forum.
So Ive got an odd situation, which is by no means an emergency but I wanted to put my question to the wind in hopes it gets answered.
Ive been renting a school laptop, and using it for projects as well as using it for some gaming. A lot like a book rental, I would use the laptop for a period of time and return it until I could check it out again.
Just this last week I rented it out again, but they had re-imaged the computers. The computer was a bit slower now, but it wouldnt play my game at all. The game would start up, and suddenly freeze about a minute or two after the game window opened. I checked task manager, and the game starts normally, but then a few minutes in the CPU usage drops to 0% as the game freezes. (I have to kill it with TM or restart the computer)
I know the hardware is good enough to play the game, as I had no issues prior to the re-image, so I assume its some setting or something in the new image. I checked the programs running in the background, and there doesn't seem to be anything new added, and checking on the school programs installed, none of them seem to be the culprit.
Now I greatly appreciate any suggestions on what could have happened and if potentially its something I can fix (the computers wipe every time they are checked in, so no worries about me fiddling with settings and the like). Still, its not too big a deal because it still works for all my schoolwork and stuff, I can live without a video game. But if anyone has any thoughts Id like to hear them!
