Question

game issues

Feb 21, 2014 11:45AM PST

I built a windows 98 SE gaming machine. It has an AMD Athlon XP 2700+ processor, GeForce FX 5200 AGP graphics card, 256mb ram and 60gb IDE HD.

I installed Wizards and Warriors and it runs great. Except when I try to exit the game the program locks the computer up completely.

Second issue is Dungeon Siege from CD installs and updates fine, but when I press play it just loads and then gets stuck on the last white dot and cannot be played.

Third issue DinoTycoon music will not work under the soundblaster option.

I have DirectX 9 installed, fresh windows 98 SE install no updates. Not sure what the issue is with some of these games.

It was all too common to have lockups in these older OSes. You would reboot and carry on.

It fixes a lot of problems, especially with those older games on win98.
