game installation help

by billyb0y91 / March 6, 2013 8:10 PM PST

Hi, I'm not very tech-savvy when it comes to this sort of thing. I just bought ANNO1404 on my PC and during installation I get an error message (CRC error?) I have no clue how to fix the problem, here is a screenshot of that message...

I bought the game brand-new and have never had this message before.
If anyone can help me resolve this it would be very much appreciated.

The last 2 lines of the error message are written in plain English. So that's what you should do. Probably they'll say that their disk is OK and your computer hardware (disk drive, motherboard, RAM) is defective. So - to be prepared for that) here are a few other things to try and diagnose the problem.
- install the same disk on another PC - if that fails also, it's most likely a bad disk
- clean the head of the disk drive (head cleaner)
- copy the disk to another disk (using the disk copy option of your favorite burning program) and try that
- go back to the shop and get a replacement that's not corrupted
