Question

Game-Design Notebook [500-1000€]

May 20, 2017 4:10PM PDT

Hey all,
I am about to start my studies in game-development in the netherlands,
which comes with a "bring your own device" policy.
Unfortenetly the closest i get to that is my tablet, which is ofc insufficient.

Now i'm looking for a new notebook, where as everything
-That runs Unity3D and renders semi ok in Blender
-is above 14"
-is as-cheap-as-possible (<1k)
would be great already. 1000€ is the limit but i'd highly apreciate any recomandations
which are cheaper.

Windows is prefared, but if the best option turns out to be a macbook or OS free i'm fine with it aswell.

SLIM and SILENT would be huge bonuses, since i'll have to bring that thing to lectures and tutorials,
meaning that an abnormal "Xx ULTRA RGB GAMINGZ xX" notebook with 2 power brick eventually falls out of
my equation.

I'd really apreciate your advice, so thank you inbefore!
Best regards, Sebastian

Uni, that's why
May 20, 2017 9:11PM PDT

So far i'm trying to find a way to get my hands on a Dell Inspiron 7567 with i5 and gtx1050, as it was suggested elsewhere. Hard to no break the 1k limit with it tho.

Why a laptop? Uni, thats why. As i broke of my recent bachelor to move on to Game design, i made the experience that i spend a good 6-10 hours a day around campus, or at least away from the comfort of my room, and therefore my desktop PC. Bringing that to lectures and Tutorials, #Bringyourowndevicepolicy, seems a little too much effort to me.

And he tells me every game runs fine. The 1050 would be very nice.

Looks nice

Looks really nice with GTX 1050 for only around 900 dollars. BTW I have Aspire VX 15 which is almost having the similar price, but with better design.
