Galaxy Trend Plus not compatible with kies

by kumbichiunda / June 13, 2014 4:19 AM PDT

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus and I wanted to manage my content via kies but when I connect the phone to my PC I get a message saying the device is not compatible. Is there any way of resolving this?

Clarification Request
Is this this one?

I see they offer Kies and Samsung has been good to not offer if it's incompatible. However with some "rooting" the phone or installing other ROMS, you may have to tell a little more. That is, it should compatible.

Hi R. Proffitt

I apologise, i am not very good with the technical stuff (rooting/installing other ROMS) but I just expected it to work. Do you know any way of fixing it? Maybe a step-by-step tutorial?

I've seen guides but I think this is more of an indictment of the industry. That is, with an Apple they make the whole bundle and can pretty much assure us it will most of the time just work. On Windows PCs with folk hitting the PC with firewalls, more protection and malware, never sure what I'll run into.

Simple things that should never be a problem are. Such as bum front USB ports.

Let me share a recent failure.
by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / June 13, 2014 7:38 AM PDT

I had this cheap USB to phone cable. Bought in a pack of ten all seemed OK as they all charged phones around the office. But not one works with ADB.

You don't need ADB. It's just my last failure I ran into. It does not mean this is your issue as well. I've had PCs that have troubles, cables, malware, firewalls and such so the question is, did we expect a lot from the owners?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
