Galaxy S6 vs. Nexus 6P vs. LG G4

Aug 22, 2016 7:24AM PDT

Hi All,

First post, so just wanted to start by saying thanks in advance! Should be pretty simple, just looking for some advice on what phone to buy. The screen on my Samsung J5 (which I bought abroad) just stopped displaying (flash some weird bars and colours across the screen first). I can hear the notification alerts and turn the phone off and on but it's really quite useless.

I've been quoted at around 120$ CAD to have the screen fixed, which is pricey. I also looked into replacing it myself but time is pressing as I need the phone for work and can't really wait 3-4 days for that whole process to work itself out.

So I've been looking in with my provider at the following 4 phone options that are on sale:

1) LG G4 is on for 0$ up front and I will pay 15$ per month for 24 months for a total of 360$

2) Moto G Plus is on for the same price.

3) Galaxy S6 is on for 250$ up front and 15$ more per month for 24 months for a total of 610$

4) Nexus 6P is on for 350$ up front and 15$ more per month for 24 months for a total of 610$.

My SP is Koodo Mobile and I really don't want to change my plan.

I am just looking for any tips and advice on what to do here. I am thinking that the G4 is my best option, but I was looking for additional opinions if possible.

Cheers!

Looking for Best Value for Money
Aug 22, 2016 9:23AM PDT

hey thanks for the reply! I'm in Canada, so the link you posted I can't order from/at that price. In Canada on amazon.ca the unlocked G4 is selling for 420-450$ (same with the Moto G). It's not a huge sale on the phone through the financing option I mentioned, but it's still decent savings.

I also wanted to clarify that I am looking for the best value. I can afford to spend on the more expensive phones, but I really would prefer a bang for buck. That's why the G4 was my leading candidate as it seemed to be only very slightly weaker of a phone than the Galaxy S6 but it's significantly cheaper (S6 is about 550$-600$ CAD on amazon.ca)

If you have a question on the G4

I can answer some since I own one. It seems a nice enough phone, to me the camera is top notch and it works. I did get a battery upgrade and case so I can go days without a charge.
Yes I know the Canada discussion too. I live in the Vancouver, BC area for 8 years.
