Question

Galaxy S3 Freaking Out!! Help!

Jan 8, 2015 4:42AM PST

I got new headphones and they worked perfectly for over a month. Suddenly, yesterday, when I plug them in the media sound, notification sound, ringtone sound move up and down by itself. Also, the song pauses and plays and changes by itself.

But it works fine without headphones or when I connect it to my blue tooth speaker. It's super annoying and frustrating!

I've tried using all the different media players already on the phone, but it still does it. It even does it when I'm on an app with audio.

I read some where to reset the phone to factory settings and I did that, but nothing changed.

Did you try other headphones?

It sounds like the buttons on this unknown headphone have failed.

Yeah I've tried 2 other head phones and they worked fine.
The headphones that mess up on my phone work perfect on my computer too..
The headphones only have a pause/play button on them :/

What do you mean?
It has to be something with the phone because the headphones work fine with my laptop and kindle..
The button works perfectly too, just the phone keeps freaking out :/

(NT) Or the laptop and kindle ignore the buttons.

Do you know if there's a way to make my phone ignore it too?? I walk a lot and long distances, and listening to music makes it better, but I can't now cause of this..

Yes. But it involved surgery on the failed headphones.
