Question

Futljitsu ah530 laptop won't turn on.

Hi everyone. I recently plugged my laptop with another charger and it went off and didn't turn on again. 10 sec before my laptop was ok. I tried again with my charger but nothing. I tried removing the battery and press the button for 30sec - 2min nothing again. When i plugg in my charger a spark appears(never happened before). The person who had the other charger told me that his laptop didnt turn on either and when he went at the pc service they told him that the motherboard was dead... Any idea what might be the problem? If the problem is the motherboard, does it worth it to change it? Thank you!

Re: won't turn on

It could very well be something on the motherboard. It depends on how old the laptop is, and how expensive a replacement, if that's a good idea.

Using a random charger without checking the voltage is not a good idea, especially if it did kill another motherboard already.

Re: won't turn in

My laptop: "Fujitsu Lifebook AH530 HD6". I have it for 5 years and worked ok.
I went to a computer technician and he told me that is propably motherboard's fault but he has to check it first. He told me that if the board is the problem then he could try to fix it. Should i let him try to fix? I'm afraid that my laptop wont live long after that... Or maybe i need another board but i saw that it costs about 300bucks for a new one...

That would be a good price for a motheboard.

But here it's a financial decision since where I'm at I can get working new laptops starting at 200 USD. A 5 year old laptop is past its days and may have another failure around the corner or already failed parts. Like that battery.
