Fujitsu notebooks

Dec 26, 2004 1:23PM PST

I've been doing more and more research and I am liking what I hear on some sites about the Fujitsu line. I am now thinking of ether the E8000D or the S6000D line.

Does anyone have any pros and cons for this brand and these models? I read they have tied IBM for service and reliability on PC World's survey.

Thanks

Fujitsu Japan ok but no way to Fujitsu-Siemanns in Europe

The Fujitsu models made in Japan seem to have good reliablility. The only issue is that they are only sold over the internet with a few exeptions (like Fry's Electronics in the US western states).

The only drawback I see on most of the models under $2,000 is that they have only shared/integrated video memory and you can spend less if that is really all you need. Fujitsu does have the Crystal view LCD's which are similar to Sony Xbrite, Toshiba Trubrite and HP/Compaq Briteview (LCD screen treatment for sharper/shinier LCD)

There are Fujitsu notebooks with a dedicated video card (you should get at least 64mb dedicated video if you go that route) but they are over $2,000 .......

DO NOT get Fujitsu-Siemanns notebooks as these seem to have a huge amount of problems (sold in Europe mostly I guess)

Very solid but for $2200 came with no case.

But got it with bluetooth 768 MB RAM 5400RPM drive and better video.

SD slot and 4 USB ports are great to have.

Wish I got the DVD writer but DVD reader-CD writer for now for me,
