Need a little info on this Camera I seen on QVC.

At the moment I have a 3.2 mega pixel Camera, with video, but no sound.( Toshiba)
Also I'm not sure if my PC will take the XD memory card.Have a memory card reader what takes SD,MMC,SM,

Never mind about the Card reader
Nov 5, 2005 3:35AM PST

Found out that my Memory Card reader is not compatible with the Memory Card XD.

But I would like to have a little info on the Camera itself. Or would I be better of with an other Camera. I do like the specs on the Fujifilm 6.3 though.

Thanks,

The description you gave almost fits the Fujifilm F10.

Except the F10 has a 2.5 inch LCD and a 3X optical zoom.

You should recheck the specs you see on TV.

Anyway the F10 and the newer F11 are the only Fujifilm cameras that have 6.3 megapixles.

If it is the F10, the price is better than some places that advertise it.

Here is a review of the F10.....it got a good rating.

Sorry, my mistake forgot the model NR. E 550.

Checked the link out, and I'm sure it is not the F 10. I like the rating though. Maybe the E550 is older or it is a newer model?

Thanks any ways, maybe I need to read the boards so I can see what most of the peoples like. One thing is for sure I will not buy a Sony.

OK, that matches the specifications you stated.

The E550 was introduced in Oct 2004.

The E550 is a very nice camera.
It has the same lens, sensor and processor as the more expensive F810. Many prefer it to the F810.

Here is a review of the E550:

It received a very high rating.

Lots of information on this website about the Camera.
To bad it has an XD memory Card. Neither my PC or Printer has the memory reader for an XD card. It makes it so easy to use the memory card this way instead the USB.

Do you think I should wait a little longer and see what is coming out next? I am not
sure if this applies to a camera like with a PC, if it is a year old it is outdated?

Do you know of another Camera what comes close to this one, but don't uses the XD memory card?

In the digital camera world, there is always a new model coming down the road.

The E550 is a year old model but you are getting a lot of camera for the money. It is not a simple point-and-shoot camera. It is classified as an intermediate camera and has some very useful manual controls.

The xD memory card is not that much of a problem, because you can get xD card readers.

The only newer camera that I can think of that is in the same class as the E550 (and about the same price) is the new Canon A610).

I have not seen any reviews on the A610 yet, but it is the replacement for the Canon A95 which received very good reviews. The A610 uses SD memory cards. I noticed that Newegg.com has it priced at $262 with shipping.

Thank you so much for your time. You have been of great help to me.

At least now I have two options. And I will go and check the Canon A610 out. You
are right I should not be concerned about the Memory Card, as long as the Camera/Lense is good.

Have a good week end. Happy
