I suggest you read this review on the Fuji S3100.

He speaks of poor low light performance and the lack of "Burst" mode for action photography.
I recently used a Konica-Minolta Z2 at a wedding.
The wedding was out-doors but the reception was in a dimly lit building. The Z2 performed well outside and inside. It has a strong flash (covers 20 feet) which was a big help too.
I have used the Z2 burst mode and that is great for sports or action shots.

I'm looking for a camera with good optical zoom and 4 megapixel resolution as well as a low price. I've narrowed the choice down to two that I especially like: the Fujifilm S3100 and the Konika Minolta Z2. I'm leaning strongly towards the Z2 mainly because of the shorter shutter release, but is the Z2 really $100 better than the S3100?
